Why #Strike4Sudan ?

I've decided to participate and interact with the hunger strike invitation “#Strike4Sudan, which was announced in the period between 21-25 October 2013 in an attempt to draw and attract attention on current crisis in Sudan with 3 key demands of the initiative, which are:

1- The release of all political detainees;
2- Bringing those responsible for the killing of protesters to justice and allowing people to demonstrate without fear of detention or use of force;
3- Freedom of expression and allowing journalists to resume their role and lift the bans on newspapers.

These are legitimate demands of us as citizens dream of a better life with humanity and dignity for all Sudanese in their homeland. But in addition to these three main demands I’ve decided to join the initiative and go on hunger strike for the additional reasons I'll write about in this blog.

In last September, more than 200 martyrs were murdered without any offense, but they went out, demanding freedom. Up to the minute, the regime refused to take any responsibility for killing theses victims, or even provided who the regime claimed that they killed the martyrs of justice.
In addition to these martyrs, Sudanese citizens and for a quarter of a century die every day for many reasons, such as
Wars now in different parts of the country
Malnutrition
The deterioration of healthcare services
Daily accidents due to poor road network and transportation
Corrupt and carcinogens goods that have invaded the markets
And many others reasons which kill the Sudanese on a daily basis. And he lucky citizen who survive all of that will live the life of the dead due to the corruption that has plagued the country, and ignorance, poverty and oppression and repression have become the citizen’s best buddies.

The regime bargains about hundreds of kilometers of roads they have constructed but in a miserable way that make them roads to grave. They bargain about the hospital they have built, which are so bad to be only a transit terminal to the afterlife. They bargain about the freedom of expression that they have given to us according to the huge number of newspapers and TV channels the allowed, but only to glorify the regime and defame the people whenever they demand their rights. They also bargain about the security they brought to Sudan as they have ended the longest civil war in Africa at the same time they have stared another war in Darfur three years before that and now they have extended that war to many parts of the country. But they can’t bargain about any serious development and success in the regime agencies and the society.

As the fourth day of the strike has started I can’t get my acts together and organize my ideas so excuse any lack of clarity and I’m gonna finish the upcoming paragraph.

After 3 days of this strike I think we haven’t grabbed the desirable attention with our case and also some people may think what we are doing here is insignificant as the regime starve some citizens forcibly, therefore they won’t even pay us any attention, but I believe that any effort we can do with be a small chain in the revolution’s machine that will uproot this regime from its roots.
